Have you ever heard of animal testing?
I have. Just a few days ago. The Google results I gained were horrifying.
Did you know most big companies test on defenseless animals for the sake of beauty? They squeeze out our money from rabbits, monkeys, rats, cats, dogs that have/had gone through torturous processes. Only little of us are particular when it comes to the products we’re using — especially on cosmetics. Experimenting a make-up line by dipping unfamiliar liquids into a rabbit’s eye by force, ya Rabb, and that’s just the minimal process. To know more go to HARMLESS HOUSE.
Animal testing is still the industry’s best-kept dirty secret. Consumers who realized this switched brands to The Body Shop or Urban Decay thinking they’re cruelty free. The truth, sadly, profits made by these two companies can be used to fund L’Oreal’s animal testing divisions, research facilities in China, and to fund their activities on animal tested products. They misguided us consumers, making us believe we’re purchasing cruelty free products. In fact, L’Oreal is the largest cosmetics and beauty company in the world that continues to profit from animal testing. What betrayal.
After researching, the last picture above where I collected all of the brands I bought that are tested on animals are going into the trash. The brands are:
5. AVON (they used to undergo cruelty free, but not anymore)
8. SKIN FOOD
9. CETAPHIL (which is a shame)
Some items in the picture are new and untouched, but by Allah, I’m sure by consuming them is not how I show gratitude to my Lord. Now the question is, should animals suffer for our vanity? Go to LOGICAL HARMONY or PETA to learn more about your fav cosmetic brands, and be surprised. You don’t have to be a vegan to support cruelty-free. Don’t worry, companies that don’t test on animals do exist. E.g.:
1. PALMER’S ✿♥❀
2. GINVERA ✿♥❀
3. SKINZ ✿♥❀
4. ROSKEN ✿♥❀
5. PHB ETHICAL BEAUTY ✿♥❀
6. SIMPLYSITI ✿♥❀
7. SAFI ✿♥❀
8. RONASUTRA ✿♥❀
9. LUSH ✿♥❀
We all have our own values, but I believe the best beauty in the entire world is kindness. Our Prophet s.a.w. has taught us that. Support cruelty free companies.
“Whoever is kind to the creatures of God, is kind to himself." — (The Prophet Muhammad s.a.w) Also, it is related from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah s.w.t. (Peace Be Upon Him), once saw a donkey which had been branded on its face and he said, “May Allah curse the one who branded it." — (Muslim)
